Translation:

Lord of the universe who reigned before anything was yet was created:

At the time when all things were made by His desire, then was His Name proclaimed King.

And after all things shall have had an end, He alone, the dreaded One, shall reign;
He was, He is, and He will be in glory.

And He is One, and there is no second to compare to Him, to consort with Him:

Without beginning, without end: to Him belong strength and dominion.

Without valuation, without resemblance, without change or substitution.

Without addition, without separation, with great strength and valor.

And He is my God—my Redeemer liveth and—a rock in my travail in time of distress;

And He is my banner and my refuge, the portion of my cup on the day when I call.

And He is a doctor a healer, and a watcher and a helper.

Into His hand I commend my spirit, when I sleep and when I wake;

And with my spirit, my body also: the Lord is with me, and I will not fear.

My soul will be revealed in his temple. Our Messiah he will send quickly.

Now Let us sing, in my holy house, Amen Amen, the Awesome Name.

Translation from the Authorized Daily Prayer Book by Simeon Singer, published in 1890 (now in public domain), with user-contributed added verses for the Mizrahi version.

"Humble ones, humble ones, the time of your redemption has arrived, and if you do not believe this, look at my light that is shining."

I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.

Bless the LORD, O my soul.

Translation:

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

His loving kiss burns in my heart
My heart has been bitter since the day he left

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

My love has run from me, left me
Which way did he take – I too will follow it

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

I went out to find my lover among friends
I was caught in a trap, the watchmen hit me

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

I watched for my lover, when will he come to me,
Dress me in my jewels and have mercy on me?

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

Bare Your arm to gather the scattered ones
Reveal Your final salvation and raise Your banner

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

Get up, my unique one, and return in repentance
My sister, my love, Your redeemer is coming

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

Desirable and precious, often thought of
More valued than gold, go out and dance for joy

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

I have remembered the kindness of your youth
I will build your Temple on sapphire foundations

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

My beloved's voice is coming, skipping over the mountains
Get up, my love, the final redemption is coming

I will fly away and rest, wandering far
I will sleep in the desert and perhaps find my lover

Translation:

At the departure of the day of contentment, provide relief for Your people; send the Tishbi to the groaning one, and let groans and sorrow flee.

It is seemly for You, my Rock, to gather in the scattered people from the hand of a cruel nation that has dug me a pit.

Arouse the time of love, O G!d, to rescue the people who are praying to see Your goodness at the redeemer’s advent, for the sheep, scattered and cast out.

Proclaime salvation for the generous people, O G!d, Who is bannered with myriad angels. May the coming week be one of salvation and relief.

The bereaved daughter of Zion, who is now despised, may she soon be wed, a joyous mother of children.

The wellsprings then will flow as Hashem’s redeemed will return and draw the waters of salvation - then the torment will be forgotten.

Guide Your people like a merciful father. The unabanndoned nation will speak the word of Hashem Who is faithful, when You uphold the promise.

The dear ones surviving the decree will sing their song robustly, without a scream and without defeat. There will be no captive and no scream.

May this month be like the prophecy of [Moses] the father of seers. And may there be heard in this house the sound of joy and the sound of gladness.

The Strong One will fill our requests; the Firm One will implement our prayers; and They will send into our handiwork, blessing and success.

At the departure of the day of delight, You Whose Name is ‘Awesome Accomplishment,’ dispatch the Tishbi to the treasured people with relief and joy and respite.

With sound of cheer and joyous song our lips will then exult. Please, Hashem, save now! Please, Hashem, bring success now!

Blessed is He, our God, Who created us for His glory, and set us apart from those who go astray; and gave us the Torah of truth, and eternal life He implanted within us.

May He open our heart to His Torah, and instill in our heart love and awe of Him, to do His will and serve Him with a perfect heart, so that we shall not labor in vain nor bring forth that which causes dismay.

Translation:

Renew my youthful joy, O G-d, I plead, and bring the prophet Eliyahu.

Firm and strengthen my weakened hand,
Bless my labour and all my works.
My Redeemer, remember my affliction and my sorrow.
Establish Your beneficial word to encourage me.
Hasten and send, gladden my heart,
The prophet Eliyahu, the prophet Eliyahu.

Gather and prepare enough for my needs,
Prepare my food and allotted bread,
Fatness and all goodness hurry to nurture me.
With Your goodness, satiate my infant and my suckling,
May my Messiah come to the city of my dwelling,
The prophet Eliyahu, the prophet Eliyahu.

Prepare for this nation, my Rock, O Rock, to heal the wound;
Bread to eat and clothes to don,
May those who envy me look, see and be shamed.
The palace of Mount Sion may You soon conquer;
My joy will grow when I see around me,
the prophet Eliyahu, the prophet Eliyahu.

Ammon and Moab may You destroy,
Your redemption for Your people may You soon reveal.
May You populate Sion with this people,
to the Great King's city we will then ascend.
Cause to be present among the beloved people,
the prophet Eliyahu, the prophet Eliyahu.

Information:

This pizmon, of unknown authorship, first appears in Mahzor Vitry at the turn of the 13th century. The name of the composer has been variously deciphered from the acrostic of either the first stich, חשאן, Hassan, or of the second stich, אורי, Uri, or from the last letters of the first four words, שילא, Shila.
It is a plea for redemption and prosperity on the personal level, and for the ultimate conquest of Israel's enemies. All these hopes are attached to the coming of Eliyahu, the herald of the Messiah.

Translation:

The One who distinguishes between sacred and profane, may He forgive our iniquities. Our children and our fortunes (some substitute: our peace) shall multiply like the sand, and the stars of the night.

Translation by Gabe Seed

He who makes a distinction between the holy and the every-day
May he nullify our sins.
May he multiply our offspring and our wealth (some say: our peace) like the sand and like the stars in the night.

The day has passed like the shadow of a Palm tree.
I call out to God, over me complete
the watchman says "Morning comes and also night".

Your righteousness is like Mt Tabor
May you pass over my failings
Like yesterday which is gone
And like a Watch in the night

The time of the afternoon prayer has past
Who will give me rest?
I have wearied with my sighing;
I shall pray every night

Listen to my voice, cast it not aside
Open up to me the lofty gate
For my head is drenched with dew
and my locks with the raindrops of the night

Translation from Wikisource

Information:

While this piyyut (poem) is traditionally sung Motzei Shabbat (Saturday Night) following havdalah, some are of the opinion that it was originally written for the conclusion of Yom Kippur (when Havdalah is also recited), due to the references to forgiveness (verses 1, 3) and the waning of the day (verse 2). It exists in both Ashkenazi and Sephardi traditions and is also an acrostic poem carrying the name of the author "Yitzhak Ha-katan" or "Isaac the Younger" ; several scholars identify him with Isaac b. Judah ibn Ghayyat of Spain (1030-1089).

Translation:

Behold! God is my deliverance, I trust in Him and I am not afraid. God is my strength and song, He will be my deliverance. You shall draw water in joy from the waters of deliverance. Deliverance is God's, for His nation that is his praise, Selah.
The Lord of Hosts is with us, He is our support, the God of Jacob, Selah.
The Lord of Hosts, praiseworthy is the one who trusts in Him. The Lord will save, the King will answer on the day that we call. There was light, joy, gladness and honor for the Jews - so may there be for us.
I will raise up the cup of deliverance, and call in the name the Lord.

With the permission of my masters and teachers:

Praised are You, Lord, King of the Universe, Who creates the fruit of the vine.

Praised are You, Lord, King of the Universe, Who creates fragrant species.

Praised are You, Lord, King of the Universe, Who created the light of the flame.

Praised are You, Lord, King of the Universe, Who distinguishes between sacred and profane, light and darkness, Israel and the nations, between the Seventh Day and the six days of creation. Praised are you, Lord, who distinguishes between sacred and profane.

Translation:

I stayed with Laban, but I still observed all 613 commandments.

I will rejoice and find happiness in this, the Torah, because it is to us a strength and light.

Information:

Genesis 32:4-5 states: "Jacob sent messengers ahead to his brother Esau in the land of Seir, the country of Edom, and instructed them as follows, Thus shall you say, ‘To my lord Esau, thus says your servant Jacob: I stayed with Laban and remained until now.'"

Rashi's interpretation of this verse includes the following:
כלומר עם לבן הרשע גרתי ותרי"ג מצות שמרתי ולא למדתי ממעשיו הרעים

"This is to say, I lived with the evil Laban, and still observed the 613 commandments, and did not learn from his evil deeds."

Translation:

A cry and a scream and a feeling, a father in the forest is searching for his children.

Children, children, where have you been, that you have forsaken me?

Children, children, come back home to me, because I am tired of sitting alone.

Father, father, how can we go to you, when there's a guard standing at the door (king's gate).

Information:

This niggun was created by Reb Aryeh Leib (a follower of the Baal Shem Tov), who was also known as the Shpoler Zayde.

He would sing this niggun before Tikkun Chatzos, the midnight prayer bewailing the destruction of the Temple.

The song's lyrics reflect the meaning of that prayer. The niggun is about a father searching for his children, asking if they have forgotten about him and that they should return home. The children answer: "How can we return home when there's a guard at the door?"

This symbolizes our present situation with our Almighty Father and His children, the people of Israel. G-d is looking for the Jewish people who are in golus (exile), and implores them to return home. The Jewish people reply: "How can we return home, when there's a guard (our nefesh habehomis) blocking the way back home?"

Traditionally, each verse was sung in Hebrew, Yiddish and Russian (Russian lyrics are omitted here) before moving onto the next verse. Often, people now sing with an added English line to each verse:

A voice in the forest reaches my ears, a father calling his lost children near.
Children children where can you be, that you've forgotten all about me.
Children children return to your home, for I cannot bear to remain alone.
Father father how can we return once more, when your guard is standing outside your door.

Some, more recently, have added new verses (expressing the Father's reply to the Children). There are different versions, such as:
Children children repent for your sins, and against the enemy you will win.
Children children if for Moshiach you do yearn, mitzvos do and Torah learn.
Children children have no fear, the coming of Moshiach is very near.

Translation:

My soul yearns for the candle and the fragrant spices,
if you would give me a cup of wine for Havdalah.

Pave the roads for me, clear them for one who is lost.
Open the gates for me, all you angels above.

I shall raise my eyes up to G-d with a heart full of yearning,
He Who makes all my needs available to me by day and by night.

Whatever is lacking, please give to me
from Your storehouses of good, for to your kindnesses, there is no end or limit.

Refresh my age, my sprouting leaves, and my goodness,
take away my sorrows, pain and darkness.

Behold! The days of work constantly renew.
May peace and goodness be renewed in them forever!

Information:

This pizmon, signed with the acrostic לסעדיה, was written in the 17th century by Saadyah ben Yosef of Yemen. It opens with the four mitzvot involved in the Havdalah service: the candle (נר), the spices (בשמים), wine (יין), and Havdalah itself.

It continues with a fervent prayer that all one lacks be given from G-d's storehouses of good, with day filled with peace and goodness.

This is My World

This is My World

Life is good it’s plain to see everything was made for me
The way it fits like a glove a present from The One Above

This is my world I can’t walk away
This is my world I can make a change, I can make a change

Every night my soul goes up until the morning when I rise
I thank the Lord for another day it’s good to be alive

This is my world I can’t walk away
This is my world I can make a change, I can make a change

Every day I pray every child grows up to say
This is my world I can’t walk away

Life is good it’s plain to see with all its opportunity
To feel the sun, laugh and sing the mountains and the deep blue sea

This is my world I can’t walk away
This is my world I can make a change, I can make a change
This is our world, we Can make a change
